As we mentioned in our MLB 19 Stubs batting manual, the present era of baseball is dominated by pitchers. By default, you're at an advantage when you step on the mound. Base is only reached by The top hitters . However, in The Show 19 for PS4 you cannot get idle when picking your pitches and their location. Batters will start seeing red, if you serve up poor pitches on a constant basis and the shortage will skyrocket. You can't always, or even frequently, pitch a no-hitter, and therefore you want to have a really good sound fielding strategy too. Though there are many control schemes for pitching, the default scheme is easily the best, giving you flexibility while staying relatively simple to perform on a constant basis. Above the plate is a meter. It curves upwards to the right for left handed pitchers to the left for pitchers and up. A strike box overlay shows you where you need to place the ball in order to get strikes.
Each pitch is assigned a face (or R1 if a pitcher has five pitches). You simply select your pitch, choose the place with the analog stick, and press the button again to start the meter.
