Rs3 includes a RuneScape gold playerbase because of mechanics and the learning curve. Getting rid of some change scape makes the endgame attractive to the RuneScape playerbase but also can get rid of some of the learning curve helping newer RuneScape players. It also opens up options for new ability expression because if you no more need something like flanking or 3 rings and 2 necklaces, you now have stock space to explore other mechanisms or enable jagex to look more interesting/meaningful alternatives such as vuln bombs for those spaces.

Just my 2 cents as a casual pvmer. If you want to get people into PvM, reducing the amount of switching is among the least helpful things potential and will never get you the results you desire, especially thinking about the fact that switches aren't necessary for any material intended at the base level

You get people and interested by providing them meaningful challenges and feedback loops to induce them to get better and have that desire to drive themselves to get better. Something hard? Just grind away until it can be overpowered by you using stats that are raw. The open-ended nature of RuneScape, while having a great deal of benefits in RuneScape player liberty, also hinders RuneScape player expansion for battle by not providing meaningful tests to show the RuneScape participant where they should be for combat. That is awful if Jagex wants individuals to really get down with all the fundamentals of EoC. That is also why people are on Revolution, because they simply don't know any better and stay with it following the outset of RuneScape game.

By that point in endgame, you're too entrenched in bad habits and do not understand what is good or bad if you don't speak to other RuneScape players. If you'd like people to get into cheap RS gold game, you need to show them some friction and examine them in their abilities, providing them an endorphin rush and inviting them to push their limits.
