It is not giving more power to pkers since the majority of the damage comes OSRS gold in the weapon and they can currently 1-item that. You're taking away more energy from them because those defending can afford to use armour. If I get a lava wyrm task I would rather bring t80 to combat them, and potentially have to fight someone over the place where I risk 2m on passing, instead of the current system where I must bring budget grade gear and need to surge-tp from any tape I see since I don't need to drop anything but my weapon, my legs and body.
Why are people who certainly don't PvP indicating modifications? Since there's content in the wilderness that runescape players want to do, or feel"pressured" to do, for any reason, so they are part of the men and women who partake in Wilderness articles, so their opinion matters? It has been widely regarded for years that many individuals don't enjoy EoC PvP and steer clear of the Wilderness such as the plague. Some do fight back, sure, but most people I know exactly go naked into the Wilderness, so a PKer murdering them is wasting both of their time. Skillers and penguin hunters are fed up with being"lure", despite having very little return for their time wasted, to the stage that a number of the skilling content in there's content that is dead, and then many PKers claim they have nobody to kill.
I believe a better question is, why don't people who PvP appear to suggest more changes to PvP? I have seen this identical idea suggested several instances, and PKers always appear to complain, but hardly any ever offer feedback. I have also seen some people suggest that all skilling articles is removed from the Wilderness, but they add in more supervisors and Slayer monsters, so that everyone in the Wilderness would have reason to deliver at least SOME combat equipment regardless. The Wilderness as it is does not seem to be very popular with runescape players, and every major upgrade to the PvP aspect of runescape tends to flop, such as Bounty Hunter being taken over by spiders. Runescape players which don't PvP are tired of being used as bait, and development time used on material that will be dead soon anyways.
Well as you can see in the other comments, I am taking in plenty of hints from all kinds of runescape players. Pkers, pvmers, non-maxed and maxed. What is your despair with the idea? Dying used to imply something in runescape. As somebody who would mostly play to do a little bit of pking back in the days before EoC, it had been the best aspect of runescape for me. You got the kill and the loot and then had to risk perishing carrying all that out rather than perishing to some pjers. Or the days of bounty hunter when killing whoever I desired would place me on a 3 minute timer where I couldn't leave the crater!
