There's a documentary that pretty much covers the timeline. Fundamentally, RuneScape peaked in 2007. Between 2008 and 2013 they included a great deal of updates which OSRS gold bothered a lot of players, such as elimination of free commerce and dangerous PVP, Microtransactions, and graphical updates. Following a few years of tweaks, the 2007 version is much larger than the true RuneScape.
I added that this individually as not sure you'd all be comfortable answering it. How can you believe career prospects are in Jagex? It is no secret that a large number of jmods have left particularly with the low salary to abilities the business appears to offer. Runescript seems unappealing to select up, salaries seem low and glassdoors paints a bad picture of management.
I have found great career prospects at Jagex. Staff turnover, particularly in the games sector, is large and that is normal. What's different about Jagex is the way public-facing we are, so you'd actually detect us leaving. You don't have to move to Cambridge, you can juggle working remotely and cruising (presumably more so later on ). The games industry generally has a speedy turn-over and actually we are very unique with many team members with been operating here 3, 5, 10+ years. I can't talk for RuneScript and I'm a junior so I won't talk on salary either lol.
If they have, I'm not entirely sure what they are comparing it too - that I surely do not have these issues, myself! It's important to remember that glassdoor reviews could be submitted by anybody, whether they really worked at Jagex, and that people who do have a negative experience for any reason may be more likely to point it out. Even though the games industry as a whole might pay less than other areas in technology, there is not a day that I've awakened and dreaded the idea of arriving to work, and I value which really highly.
Personally I've been supported at Jagex. I moved here in order to buy RuneScape gold to step up my livelihood (and work on a game I adore!), and I'm more than pleased with the internal development opportunities I have been given.I've been a dev for a lengthy time and why I live at Jagex is because I really like my job. Money helps but I am not fighting and I love for doing what I enjoy getting paid a fair amount. So it's the city together with the quiet of the countryside within reach's benefits. It's just a wonderful place to call home. It depends what you value most in your lifetime.
